On the move!

Charlotte turned 11 months yesterday, and she also took 3 steps! Today she took even more! She isn't full-on walking yet, but if she is motivated enough, she'll take a few steps to get to what she wants. I'm sure she'll be walking within the next few days!

It's so exciting to watch her learn new things and develop. I am so so so proud of her!

30 Day Shred - Day 1

I just completed day 1 of Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred!

I haven't done a formal workout in WAY too long, and I'm ready to jump on the fitness wagon. And it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! Having gone through an insane natural childbirth and 4 days of labor, I think I can handle 20 minutes of ANYTHING!

I am going to do my best to do the video every day, but I know there will be a few days we will be out of town and I won't be able to (or want to!). But I'm hoping to not only finish the Shred, but also make regular workouts part of my routine again. I was looking back at photos of myself from high school and I am so ready to be that thin again!

As of this morning I'm 44lbs down from my pre-pregnancy weight. There's no way in hell I'll be writing down my actual weight, but I know what my pre-preg weight was so I'm just going to use this as a starting point to reference later on.

So wish me luck! Jillian Michaels, bring it on!

Father/Daughter Duets

My husband just got home from work and he is laying on the floor with Charlotte and they are singing together. It sounds a little something like this:

Mike: "Ahhhhhhh"
Charlotte: "Ahhhhhh"
Mike: "Ooooh"
Charlotte: "Ouuuuuuuu"
Mike: "Ahhhhhhh"

Charlotte: "Ahhhhhhmmmaaaammmaaadaaadddaaaa"

And so on and so on. It is incredibly cute.

I love watching my husband and my daughter play together. MY HUSBAND! MY DAUGHTER! Sometimes I can't believe how lucky I am to have such an amazing family at the age of 25. I love them so much.

Journey to Ernie at 2am

Well it's 2:15am and I am hanging out in the living room with Charlotte, watching Sesame Street and trying to keep my eyelids open. I don't think I've slept more than half an hour all night and I am so exhausted! But Charlotte is ready to party!

I have to say this is probably one of my least favorite things about being a mom. Most things are awesome, but this whole "baby's awake so mommy has to be awake" thing sucks.

It's my own fault that we're awake in the middle of the night, which makes it even worse. Charlotte fell asleep on my lap at around 6:30, and what I thought would be a quick nap turned into her calling it quits for the night. I put her in her crib at about 8:30 and I should've just gone to bed. But nooooo, I thought it would be a good idea to stay up and drink wine, eat cheesecake, and watch Parenthood. THEN I thought it would be a good idea to continue to stay up and spend some qt with Mike. I didn't end up crawling into bed and falling asleep until midnight, which is SUPER rare for me (I couldn't even stay up until midnight on New Years Eve!). At 12:15 I woke up to Charlotte crying on the monitor. I brought her in bed with us and spent the next hour nursing her and trying to get her to fall back to sleep for the rest of the night, but at 1:30am she decided it was time to get up! I knew that nap at 6:30pm was a bad idea! NEVER AGAIN!

So here we are, hanging out with Big Bird while he's on a journey to find Ernie. We've been up for an hour now so I'm just waiting impatiently for those telltale sleepy baby eye rubs. I hope we get to go back to bed soon. I miss the comfy memory foam goodness.

Hope you guys are all sleeping soundly!

The Beginning

Hello Blogging World!

It's 2013, can you believe it?! 2012 was by far the fastest year of my life, and also the most amazing! Having my baby girl Charlotte was the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me! She is my whole world! I am so excited to see what this new year has in store for me and my family, but I can't help but be a little sad that the year my beautiful daughter was born is OVER!

I was thinking back on all of the things that happened in 2012 and I realized that there were a bunch of fuzzy areas and things that I couldn't exactly remember. It was such a whirlwind year that changed my life dramatically, and the craziness often made days blur together.

So I decided to start a blog so that I could document the little things as well as the big. "Mom brain" makes it all too easy to forget things and I really want to be able to look back and remember this year!

I am definitely NOT a writer, so who knows how well this will go. But I hope you'll follow my blog and enjoy it! I'll be posting little tidbits from our everyday, links to my latest Youtube vlogs, recipes, crafts, giveaways, and anything else I can think of.

Thanks for reading, and Happy New Year!

Lots of love,
Sierra PearlDahhhling
